Peza*n Fest, Peza Tirana, Albania

Every September, in the lovely village of Peza, located just one hour from Tirana, Peza*n Fest takes place. A beautiful musical festival that signals the end of summer, it has seen some famous local and international artists grace its stage in recent years. Peza*n Fest is a good occasion to discover the outskirts of Tirana and visit less touristic parts of the city.

Peza N’Fest is an annual music concert organized by the Tirana Municipality as a commemoration of the anniversary of the liberation of the country, each September 16.

The concert is a mix of music shows and art exhibitions whose focus is the history and culture of Albania. It also honours those who fought and were martyred in their fight to liberate the city.

Fustanella Festival, Girokastra, Albania

For tradition, folklore, and typical Albanian music, avoid the coast and Tirana and head to Gjirokastër, the most important cultural town in Albania. Once here, take part in the Fustanella Festival, one of the best traditional festivals of the Balkans hosted in the stunning Gjirokastër Fortress, a must-visit place in town. Prepare to dance and sing traditional Albanian songs for three entertaining days.

The term ‘fustanella’ refers to an Albanian traditional piece of cloth worn by men from the 8th century. It is a sort of kilt but in a white colour. Nowadays, the tradition to wear this type of cloth remains solely in the South of the country, in the region of Gjirokastër, during festive events.

"The beautiful thing about this 3-day festival is that it will reinvigorate not only Gjirokastra, but the whole of southern Albania because of bringing together different bands from Indonesia, Italy, the UK and Morocco. It is remarkably interesting to note that what we think of as unique in Albania is in fact a cultural linking bridge even with other countries considering that polyphonic elements are also found in other cultures,".

Gjirokastra is also the host of traditional folklore festival held every five years since the late 1960s bringing together regional and Albania Diaspora to celebrate the country's intangible cultural heritage.

An excursion to Gjirokastër gives the opportunity to every traveller to immerse him/herself into an authentic and traditional Albania, reflecting the habits and customs from the past.

Unum Festival, Shengjin Albania

UNUM Festival is a house and techno festival, returning for a second time upon the shores of Shëngjin, Albania.

The tranquil vistas of the Albanian Riviera serve as UNUM Festival's setting; characterised by the concept of unity ("unum" meaning "one" as a whole in Latin) the coastal celebration merges music, beautiful environs, and positive vibes.

Unum Festival is characterized by five simple elements of life; music, sand, pines, the sea and the mountains.

The golden beach of Rana e Hedhun is the place where the festival will host 50 international and local acts over the course of 5 days and 4 nights.

UNUM Festival’s adoption of the minimal sound of the underground is evident going by the genre leaders that are again first to drop. Due to the ill-fated 2nd edition falling in the middle of the pandemic 2021’s edition will look to make up for it. Returning for its 2nd edition the festival will be Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, Priku, Praslea, tINI, Sonja Moonear, Shaun Reeves, Raresh, Cesar Merveille, Dyed Soundorom, Leon and that is just for starters.

Albania’s UNUM Festival seems to be one of the front runners for summer good times and with a very good cause. The festival that will be taking place non-stop between Thursday, June 3rd, and Monday, June 7th at Albania’s Rana e Hedhun Beach in Shengjin has already drawn the attention of the discerning festival-goer with the insane line-ups that they lock-in.

ION Festival, Dhermi Albania

ION is a different kind of music event, one where you’re invited to get outside the usual festival fences and have a real holiday experience.

For everyone who chooses to come with us on this extended summer party, ION will be a week filled with new encounters and 3,000 like-minded friends, all soundtracked by electronic music’s best artists.

Incorporating much of what we had planned for September 2020 with some extra ingredients on top, ION 2021 has been developed around three key principles: uniting the underground community, exploring new frontiers and enveloping a sustainable mindset.

This week-long duration gives our handpicked artists space to breathe and flex their musical acumen across eight custom-imagined stages. Playing at least one set each, with many scheduled for multiple jaunts, attendees will gain unprecedented access to every facade of their personality.

Harbouring an unquenchable desire to converge on the shores of Dhërmi in September 2021, we can now confirm the artists joining us on this Albanian adventure. A large portion of the original line-up has been replicated, complemented by several new additions…

Ohrid Summer Festival is one of Macedonia’s biggest and most well-attended events, welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the world to join in the festivities. A festival of music, theatre and dance, the event takes place over the space of a month in the picturesque city of Ohrid, a place with a history dating back to the 4th century BC when Lake Ohrid was inhabited by the ancient Greek Dassaretae tribe.

The festival features play, dance and music concerts from both professional and amateur performers, as well as operas and many other exciting events, all of which visitors can plan in advance when the festival programme is released.
